Anisa Nachett is a London-based visual artist, trained as an architect. Her practice reimagines traditional craft within contemporary culture, weaving her Moroccan heritage into sculptural forms that explore nostalgia and diasporic belonging. Her work is process-driven, using material play as an entry point where stories emerge through experimentation. She often describes her hands as “thinking entities,” guiding her towards unexpected sculptural expressions. Her work invites viewers to sense familiarity without fully knowing why. Her recent works centre on ceramics, using clay as a medium to carve, extrude, and reimagine traditional motifs in three dimensions.
Trained at TU Delft in the Netherlands and the Architectural Association, Nachett worked for five years at Ron Arad Studio before moving fully into her own practice. She recently completed international residencies in Morocco and Botswana where her work will feature in the several upcoming group shows. Alongside her studio practice, she regularly leads workshops and contributes as a visiting critic at universities, sharing her evolving approach to making, material, and meaning.
